I n January, 3 magazine introduced six luminaries as our inaugural group of ambassadors, setting the tone for a journey that begins in 3’s birthplace of Canada but expands beyond borders.
Bringing together culturally curious individuals from a vast array of backgrounds and specialties, and with a variety of invaluable experiences, this group of ambassadors includes notable innovators pushing for change in their respective worlds: Kundan Joshi, Lily Li, Bahi Kandavel, Hani Roustom, Ashley McKenzie-Barnes and Deborah Lau.

In line with its origins, and the ethos behind 3 magazine itself, the 3 Ambassador Program is not content to follow the status quo. This journey began not with a conference or a formal announcement, but with an intimate evening at LSL, a culinary concept helmed by three Michelin-starred chefs: Toronto master chef Didier Leroy, world-renowned sushi chef Masaki Saito and French fine-dining legend Christian Le Squer. Attendees dined on delicacies such as Hokkaido hairy crab—also known as kegani, these shellfish are often served during New Year’s celebrations in Hokkaido, making them a fitting addition to the event’s menu—as well as seared lamb served with jalapeño sauce and a dessert course of goat cheese and Périgord truffles in a delicious pastry.
Set against the backdrop of LSL’s artfully plated creations and an atmosphere of understated luxury, the evening was both a celebration of culinary excellence and a chance for the ambassadors to come together for the first time.

This group embodies the diversity and dynamism that 3 stands for. From banking, real estate and technology to food and beverage and the creative arts, they represent a spectrum of industries, and contribute a variety of third-culture perspectives. These ambassadors are storytellers in their own right, and through their insights, achievements and creative pursuits, they will amplify our mission of connecting a global audience through common values and aspirations.
Later this year, we’ll be expanding the Ambassador Program beyond Canada’s borders. But wherever our ambassadors hail from, they share similar qualities: they are disruptors and dreamers, each with a unique voice and perspective, yet united by a desire to forge connections, amplify third-culture perspectives and create space for important conversations.
